LOL. No, I'm really not a farmer. But I did join the Farm Bureau in order to get group insurance. The only hurdle for coverage was the typical health history questionnaire.
When my insurance of 20+ years decided to cease providing coverage to out of state retirees (I retitred young), I had a problem. Even tho healthy, all I could find was medically underwritten insurance for an individual which meant that going forward, my rates would increase not only to normal incidence factors but due to any new health conditions as well. That's a disaster waiting to happen.
Do a web search on FARM BUREAU, FARM INSURANCE, etc. and see what's available to you in your area.
I've been trading from home for almost 18 years. When I first started trading I was single and had force myself to get out of the house every day. It's easy to become obsessed and spend every minute trading, pouring over charts, reading trading books, etc. I did that for the first couple of years until I decided I had to broaden my horizons. So I learned to play golf, started running and working out. Out here in Southern California, markets open early so I had to find things to do that wouldn't keep me out all night. Fast forward to present day -- I'm married with two kids. After the markets close, I have time to pick up the kids from school and have fun with my family. Trading from home is the best job on the planet. I have no boss, no employees, no partners (except my wife), no investors and plenty of free time to enjoy my life.
there are many pros and cons. but overall, home is better. you save money. you don't hear others bitching about losing trades. no slamming desks. frankly, there's not much to learn at the office. only thing i miss is hanging out afterwards with other traders.
I feel obliged as a Trading Therapist specializing in serving the loser/loner trading community to speak out in behalf of my clientele. They, and I, for I can relate, have developed scientifically sound proof that bathing more than once a week is harmful to your health. And that excessive social contact is detrimental to one's self-proclaimed self-image as a trading genius. Being self-unemployed as a trader has many benefits, not the least of which is that you can without fear of mismanagement reproach drink and surf porn on the job. I personally find that my lower intestine is now healthier because I can fart whenver I please. Also I can release mentally healing endorphins at will by screaming "Fffffuuuuuuccccckkkkk!" at the top of my lungs whenever the situation warrants. Not to mention that if I want to release tension in a scary trade by holding my dick, I can. Try that at the office.
It must be caveated, however, that to do this you must be single or have a working wife. Mine works, and when she asks why I smell, I reply with a hurt tone "I just worked in the yard! I was clean this morning! If you want a clean husband, hire Messicans for the yard!"
