Trading for a living

I trade fx for an FI, I make 6 figure plus, but I am so fedup of
the crap and daily grind. I have been doing this for 20 years. I am seriously thinking of quiting and trading my own capital.

I am looking for some advice on how successful people
have been and what to expect.

I have 2 years worth of expenses put away, I have
little debt and I have about 75k as capital to trade.

My wife is behind me....

I am really just looking for any advice or suggestion from anyone,
before i make this big change.

Nana there is a difference in sitting in a room with other traders,
having reuters, having ebs, having paid research, playing with
someone elses money. I make 7 figures plus for these
guys with little flow, most of the money comes from specing.

I am asking if anyone has made the transition.

But thanks for the input, very helpful.

Nana I got a couple questions for u.

What is the nickname for $/cad and Gbp/usd that the market
uses.

GBP/USD ...is sometimes refered to as Cable....

USD/CAD.... never heard any nicknames for it...I call it the Canuck

Hope that helps.

Right on cable , the other one is funds.

This was a test for nana to see if he had any mkt experience.

I'm probably wrong but I thought I read somewhere that the Canadian Dollar was sometimes referred to as the Loon or Looney because of the national bird.

gwac... best of luck to your buddy.
Stick with the methods you have had success with and maintain
your discipline. You'll do great.
