the reason i ask is i see people writing things like all you have to do is make x amount of points per day. i've traded a lot of QQQ and SPY and making one point per day is not easy. i'm just trying to gauge how difficult a task it is when someone says they're making x amount of points per day in eminis, and the only way i could gauge this is relative to something that i've traded.

ES is equal to 500 shares of SPY
NQ is equal to 800 shares of QQQ

Each pt. in NQ is equal to 2.5 cents in QQQ
Thus if you make .12 in QQQ it is about 5pts in NQ.

ES must move 10pts to equal a 1pt move in SPY
 
You guys won't believe this but I did it again. This morning I was setting up a trade in IB Trader Workstation. I was getting ready to short ES . I accidentally hit enter instead of cancel. I shorted at 898.00 this morning. OH My goodness. Then I thought well, you sucker you are short, what ya going to do now. I covered at 890.75. Then said this was not bad, guess I could try some more.
Traded the whole dam day. Put the money in my account. Went to the store to get a lotto ticket.
