I don't believe you could find a broker whom would allow you trade with such a small balance, good luck though. Try forex they will take anyone.

i wish you nothing but the best and im not nagging - i used to post in the trader p/l last year and this year but it is a pia so i dont do it either :P . i hope your strat works and i'll continue to read the thread!

There's a difference between a small performance bond and having that be your entire capital. Still, the OP is an interesting experiment. It reminds me of some online poker players who would deliberately start with something small like $50 and try to reach a certain level as fast as possible.

I must be either missing something or misunderstanding ... it's not possible for a firm to take a performance bond of less than $1,000.

There are plenty of brokers offering $500 margin or less.
Forex? No thanks, no edge there whatsoever for retail scalping. Doesn't the fact that almost all FX brokers offer "no commission" trading sound a bit fishy?

'$500 brokers'
also I'd like info about the data feed and charting program/s
you're using, are they an additional charge or included by brokers
or the broker you're using

I'm not normally a negative person on ET, but this post has brought it out. I have to be critical because of the influence this can have on other under-capitalized traders. I really think that this influences people to gamble. The dream of turning 1k into 100k or even 10 k, reminds me of the people at the casinos. I live in Vegas FWIW. I prefer people to have the proper capitalization and get enough education before blowing their money away. Because typically that money is needed to support the family. I think it's ridiculous to be so careless with one's family security.

So, I recommend everyone reading this post to pressure the original OP into posting screen shots of the P&L if he claims to have made a 50% return in one day. I expect someone to have integrity if they are going into a public forum to claim an ability such as this by backing it up.

I don't contest that it is possible, I myself trade for a living. But I started with some rough patches, and I still have significant drawdowns at times. It truly is a day by day experience. But the worse thing for any trader is under-capitalization. I wish that more people emphasized this point.

The key to staying in the game is having that monetary cushion. EVERY TRADER takes a hit sometime. But with a small account, instead of it being a hit, you will be taken out of the game. And with that any chance of keeping the money to support your family.
