Most major US exchanges will be closed for trading on Tuesday Jan. 2nd. One known exception so far: CME currency and interest rate futures. Those will be open until noon CT (i.e., suspended for only 4 hours vs. regular weekday schedule). Source:

Also, CBOT "hasn't made a decision yet." Bonds will trade till 2 pm ET. And T-Bill auctions will be business as usual... what a shock (not).

if all exchanges are closed the bond market should be closed.
