One of the best traders I ever met was in to extreme sports: base jumping, scuba, parachute, iron man, etc.

I noticed that these were not team sports, but challenges to ones self. Always pushing, always testing, always enjoying life, but also having a laugh as well as working (as a side line).

Life and its opportunities is the nectar/target. Trading is just the means to achieve the freedom and money to do what you want. (extreme sports in my friends case).
