I have heard a lot of stories from friends about how they found their partners or already spouses via the Internet. Moreover, this did not necessarily happen on special portals for finding a partner, someone just “liked” a photo of a person they liked on a social network or just texted them. Buy owning a house/townhouse/condo would show stability in many cases. Having it paid for (or mostly paid for), would mean a lot to a woman. Someone with a corporate/government job will usually have the medical/dental/401K that looks attractive...Security.
I come from a family of overachievers. Even though I am doing well, I always feel like the black sheep. When you have doctors, lawyers, dentists in the family...Who am I?? Yeah, I have money, but did only OK in school. I got a BA...But also had ADHD. I know business concepts very well. I married someone who knows bookkeeping and has a BA in business administration...That helped a ton!! It was a big compliment to me.
When I say overachievers...I mean overachievers!! One family member is a doctor/attorney. Another is a dentist/attorney. Others are not just doctors...They are specialist. How do I feel at family gatherings?? I deal with who I am...That's all I can do.
One of my daughters married a techie guy. He does well and can handle large group situations. But most techie guys would rather play D & D than deal with deep conversations or functions. Another daughter married someone who may have asperger syndrome. I know many with this issue are drawn to day trading (many on ET). You get him on the right subject, he will go for an hour. But, for the most part boring conversation does nothing for him.
