Trading After A Halt

Quote from AnonymousTrader:

I've noticed in my miniscule research - from watching, not backtesting, that trading a stock after it had been halted is very profitable.

What do you guys think?

Trading news events AFTER they happen, which is what you are doing with a trading halt, is a suckers game. They are usually extremely volatile, and you will get shaken out. Not at all worth the risk, and impossible to predict short term direction.

I saw a site that listed stock halts. It doesn't happen every day.
Might be a good place to start looking but I couldn't crack it. I think it was listed on the SEC site but I'm not sure. You shouldn't have any trouble finding it.

I've never traded one but it might have some serious volatility associated with the halt if the news is that important.

regards
