Tradestation alerts help

Yeah, HOD and LOD both are integral to my style also - though to trade effectively I need a "proximity alert," I find. Will now experiment with that... you know I wonder if they've improved the Quotes pages without happening to mention it to me.

They're are a lot of neat things about TS that I've come across in much the same way you found what you were looking for. For example, one of the things I use constantly (clicking on the bid, last, or ask on Order Bar to get a limit order in that amount), I just happened to run across one day while futzing around. Like some other ease-of-use stuff, it seems to be almost buried in the documentation - unless, again, they've added it to some updated tutorial...

Anyway, thanks! Used the feature today, got alerted just in the nick of time to a trade (short OVER), made some money... so I guess I owe ya!

No problem.
Glad to be of some help $$$$$ :).
I'm sure I will have more questions more I get into the software.
For now have it just about where I want it.
Missing integrated ECN books and linking.
They say coming with next upgrade.
Hope that soon.

The tutorials just skim the surface regarding software capabilities. Documentation is less than complete.
Wish it were better.

Oh well just figure it out on my own.
Learn more that way.

ID highs are a necessary part of my trading style.
So just kept messin with it.
Noticed when I typed in an incorrect alert value then a popup window appeared alerting me that a value or expression was needed, expression like dailyhigh + dailyclose/2. Saw that and thought ??
wonder if I could use dailyhigh as my input alert value?

Works fine testing it all afternoon.

Mktman,

thanks for posting this info, it made my life much easier.
After your post, I was trying to find other expressions that are allowed in quote alert fields, but Help contains no info on that.
This is a list that I got from TS tech support:

InsideBid
Q_Bid
InsideAsk
Q_Ask
Q_Offer
Settlement
DailyOpen
Q_Open
DailyHigh
Q_High
DailyLow
Q_Low
DailyClose
Q_Close
Last
Q_Last
PrevClose
Q_PreviousClose
PrevVolume
Q_PreviousVolume
Q_PrevTotalVolume
High52Wk
Low52Wk

I haven't looked at them in detail yet, but definitely will do it soon.
Hope it helps other TS users, too.
