At this point, I'm trying to find out if there's any way to form a strategy for short-term trading. And that all this technical indicator stuff isn't just nonsense.

Here's my currently open practice Fx trades. I am $34,000+ in the positive.

I take no satisfaction from this because it's all guesses.

At this point, I'm trying to find out if there's any way to form a strategy for short-term trading. And that all this technical indicator stuff isn't just nonsense.

There are people here who will tell you that TA is useless, and that FA is the way to go. (Me, kinda', in swing trading). There are people here who will tell you that FA does not matter, and intraday price action is all that matters. Trade what you see.

There are people here who will tell you to ignore everything you read here, because you are the only person who will find what works for you, whether it is PA, TA, or FA-based.

And you know what? They are all correct. You have to find what works for YOU. Peeps here can be a guide, but not a guidepost. You must find your own way.

Once you find your way, you will be good-to-go.

holding for 18 moths is boring but you can run your business in the mean time.

True that it might be boring. But at least it's certain that it's based on something real. It is an undeniable fact that Fundamentals are what moves the price of anything. Whether it be a currency, stock, or whatever.

If there is any real science and logic behind TA, that's what I am here to learn. Am I correct in assuming that you use lots of TA indicators when scalping? What is the average hold time of your scalping trades?

i already told you for the last 12 years i have lost over 150000 usd.....i stopped counting at 150 000
you have make some effort to understand market properly but i have always believed that you can understand it....i never believed it was risk management or that we have to accept markets were random and form strategies or systems on that assumption..
markets go up till they go down ...and they announce that well before the event...but most traders do not understand the language the announcement was made because they are not listening to it because they have already decided the direction of the market

but ten pips movement up and down cannot be because the fundamentals have changed.

i use only market structure.
holding time ? i have no fixed holding time......the market decides that.sometimes i hold for 5 hours sometimes for 30 min. i let the market decide that.

it is sheer folly to scalp in a trend..
