Traders Rush to Stock-Options Bets on Tesla and Amazon

It's probably much better they suffer evaporated premiums rather than a slew of margin calls if the stock tanks. It's a built in stop-loss.

This is why the large Wall Street banks have nice earnings. Their traders get nice bonus too.

So some of those retail traders make 20% and give 10% to the banks, those retail traders still earn something. But they will lose big when the markets tank.
