Some "educators" has an army of students ready to buy anything and the "guru" always have the change to sell to them with huge profits.
Without saying which Day Trading Firm , I saw first hand how once their *Now Alert" hit the wire the gap was met with ferocious selling. Stocks were driven into the ground, almost always lower than their 200 day average for months. Looking at the Chart the strange accumulation before the "Now Alert" was obvious.

i want to see twitter posts on how they lost their life savings, got divorced, now addicted to drugs, and contemplating to pull that trigger..

Generally speaking, alleged scammers rarely lose their life savings.
But for their victims, it's another story.
