The trade entry is so discretionary it is tough to backtest ...eh handle?

try using velocity instead of volume= more trades at trend or reversal time.

Risk more to make more ticks, but going for one tick is stressful to me, I rather lose a bit on reversals and shoot for 3 ticks, add one at minus two ticks when you do have low losing percentages.

For those of you with NT7 or NT8 the ATM function is an incredible tool for this sort of "catch the momentum" trading...less stressful manual algorithmic trade tickets.

LOL. It might be. I'm having trouble understanding. I get a one tick target, 4 tick stop. I don't get 2-4 then 1-5, then 1-3. Is this just a joke?

i think he is saying isolate speed in the market then place market order for 3 when filled place 1 point stop loss.

Mark, he uses brackets using a trailing SL. He is not trading at the top of the bar but -1 tick. So when he gets the ask bumping him up without a fill/price change on a long he gets immediate improvement after entry.

Kinda complicated..you actually got to go to Tradovate and see it happen..but its true I can vouch for what he says.

My sim expired in Tradovate or I would try and screenshot it on one of my winning trades...

Agree, the minute or minutes until I cash are very stressful. That's why I only trade if my vape pen has plenty of oil. I use 475/500 mgs/ml for all the stress. Quiet please, I'm dosing my medication.

Closest yet. The bracket function is activated by placing a market order. 2 profit and 4 loss on a trailer. Since you claim superiority and wear a suit you would know this.
The Tradovate platform does this. Cannot comment on any other product. Can only say what works for me. Green means ahead if anyone needs that info.

I've been around also. First job was series 7, Smithtown, NY, circa 1987. That's when I met JB, the infamous Wolf of Wall Street. There drug part was highly exaggerated. The chop was 50% as stayed.

I can't/won't do discretionary as in everything gets back tested first, have now 15 years of tick data, so I go over the board to know just how badly drawdowns can catch most of the bad cause drawdowns always worst than backtests. When you need to get out...slippage. Everything eventually turns into automation, can't do discretionary in it but can do variable entries/exits.

ElectricSavant, since you not profitable at intraday trading? I do not advise trying to counter trend against the trend, as counter trend is much harder IMHO for too many.

I never do trailing stops, once it gets the "BE+1" that stays till either get out or reverse of other than scalps. Same with very long term stocks and commodities, all my studies so trailing stops hurts bottom line.

I'm having trouble with small print. Is the last bar chart 37 or 38 in row? Would a good analysis suggest i should trade on sunday night? Help, I'm new.
