PA does not exclusively mean recognised and named candlestick patterns, though these are reflections of unending human behavioural tendencies. For example trend - people tend to be interested in buying any asset which is rising in value or price: that doesn't automatically mean that for example that Donchian entry signals always work. But it does mean that they don't stop working.
