Trader PnL 2015

Good patience on the entry and exit today. Did not trade yesterday due to FOMC minutes, and in hindsight I am a little disappointed with myself as I missed some good opportunities prior to the minutes being released.

1 trade, 1 winner.

Was up around +340 unrealized until I got stopped out.. attempted to re-enter again just now prior to this rally however it just slightly missed my entry price.. I should have been more aggressive! Done for today as I'm a little frustrated I missed the 2nd trade.

1 trade, 1 winner.

Was up about +100 unrealized before getting stopped out at break even.. and now it seems like the market is taking forever to hit my profit-take so I just exited my 2nd trade. Done with today and the lack of volatility.. o_O

Thought about shorting in the morning and that would have been a monster trade, however I hesitated. Slowly starting to recognize trends on both sides though in this type of market.

2 trades, 1 winner, 1 break-even.

Broke a cardinal rule today to protect profits / principal by moving the stop-loss to above my entry price when I was in the money. After the morning rally, I waited to enter during the lunch hour reversal, and then I held long as the charts began to form a flat top triangle. I was expecting the market to break through the resistance level in the afternoon and rally into the close.

Had numerous opportunities to exit with a small profit or to protect principal, however I relied too much on what I thought was going to happen vs. implementing my trading system. Got stopped out when the market sold off drastically. Immediately flipped short, however I ended up breaking even on the trade due to bad execution.

2 trades, 1 loser, 1 break-even.

Will be making minor adjustments to my trading system in terms of the stop-placement as the trade becomes profitable. Too many times I've witnessed my trades hit break-even, only to rally or drop as predicted.

2 trades, 2 break-evens.

No trades today.

Waited for the lunch hour reversal to enter short, however I thought the market was going to pull back more than it actually did. I should have recognized the strength on short side based on the chart patterns, however my initial entry point was based on how vulnerable my stop-loss was going to be. I thought there was a good chance the market could mean revert so I wanted my stop-loss to be close to the intraday highs.

Once I missed the move I did not chase entry the rest of the afternoon, as I anticipated the market to rally upwards like it did in the last 1.5 hours, so I didn't want to be caught short when it did.
