Very frustrating day.. the amount of fluctuations on both sides is crazy..

The market gapped up today and showed strength in the morning, so I waited for a sell off before going long. The market ended up selling off even further and I got stopped out. From my personal experience, this type of set up under normal market conditions would have displayed a lot more support, especially with the market down as much as it is.

With the large sell off evident, I decided to play short, thinking that there would eventually be a sell off and that this gap up would just be a Dead Cat Bounce. I could have cut some losses however my profit-take was once again too aggressive, and I ended up breaking even on my second trade.

The market bounced up, and then continued to display a flag pattern downwards, so I continued short for my third trade. However, this end of day rally we're currently witnessing stopped me out for another -$200. I feel like I missed the major move to the up side just now, so I decided against flipping long and playing this move.

I thought there would be a larger sell off the morning, and I was anticipating an entry around 10 points below where the market sold off to prior to rallying up. Didn't chase throughout the day, and when the market sold off between 12:30pm and 1:00pm I missed the entry point by 3 points before the market rallied the rest of the afternoon.

In hindsight, when the market turned in the afternoon (but still down 5 to 6 points from intraday highs) I probably should have chased it as the uptrend was strong throughout the day.

Just got stopped out of my only trade today, was up around +220 unrealized before the market sold off rapidly.

Once again, I missed a couple entry opportunities today prior to the market rallying because my entry price was too low. On my third attempt I was a little more aggressive with the entry price, and market was range bound for a while prior to this end of day market uptrend.

Was short all day.. missed a major move in the morning by 0.25! Just got stopped out of a trade.. was up another 100 unrealized before the market starting trending upwards.

Was hoping for a larger EOD rally and for the S&P to hit new highs already.. but oh well!

Poor execution today attributed to my first time trading / experiencing all time highs on the S&P 500. The market popped up slightly after lunch and I ended up chasing entry close to the high as I thought the support would hold and the market would continue to trend upwards.

Should have waited for a larger sell off to enter with market levels so high. Good stop placement to cut unrealized losses from this mini EOD rally.
