Wash sale rule is at the core of the problem. When it comes to paying taxes at the end of the year the losses should be as real as the gains. Makes accounting simple and taxes fair.

Agree, wash sale losses are the item that brokers botched the most on Form 1099-Bs and Congress should scrap those rules entirely.

Thanks for signing the petition, we traders are not going to let this stand.
