Fairly light trading for me. I spend most of the time sitting in a position that was positive, but going nowhere.

No blotter today, as I got v-turn chopped in ES, TF and ZS losses, which offset CL gains to the tune of -$500. By noon I shut down in disgust, frustrated with continued comatose stock index markets. But the good news is, I made a mistake... it was only in sim! For the first time in my entire career, I was in simulated mode by mistake during losses and not what would have been solid profits 
The error happened due to a first-day use of new software platform other than Ninja. I am not leaving NT entirely, but half of my trading operation will be conducted thru a different platform (and different brokers) for diversity. I'm preparing to use a new (to me) software platform and with all the various execution details to keep in mind, I did not realize cash from sim.
Same story tomorrow and Friday: shaking down and familiarizing myself with new software. Back to work in earnest next Monday. Hopefully the ES grabs a clue from CL and actually moves up or down (or both) for normal distances on its chart.

I finished positive, but I'm very unhappy with how things played out. I was having a fantastic day and then the market drop sucked away half of my unrealized gains. Also during that time, I stepped away from my computer and then returned to find that one of my stops somehow doubled my position for one of my trades instead of getting me out. That loss ended up being way more than I had planned for.
Well, it's positive, so that's always good.

busy morning: learning GZT platform and working Ninja-CQG platform side by side.
CL: short early, -10 cents. Then short near that stopped exit, then short more below support turned resistance. Price worked just enough in favor to trail stop, price bounced just high enough to trigger said stop, price v-turned and dropped straight down much deeper in favor once out. +41 cents and +10 cents could have been 100+ cents if not for the trappy spike, but that's trading in reality.
ES: long and stopped -2pts. Short and stopped -2pts. Tried filling short at 1835.00 and adjusted sell order to 1834.50 as price surged lower. Price paused on each mark, no fill.
Plugged my nose and shorted 1833 signal with knowledge that one last lift to 1835 would stop me where I really wanted to fill, but could not. Market obliged in this case, dropped far enough to cover early chopped losses and more if I opted to hold longer.
Balancing act. My objective is to be profitable more days than not with profit days bigger than loss days. Just missed out on fairly solid day due to price action gyrations, but green is better than red

Everything went wrong today in VIX, and the stock side didn't help out. Oh well.
OTOH, I was expecting a down week until today on VIX going up in front of the NFP, which is normal. But overall still an up week, because VIX actually fell in front of that report, although it managed to go up a whole .02 today. Makes me wonder what's going to happen tomorrow. Might be more fun than I really wanted...
