Trader P/L 2013

I understand what your saying, I gotta stop being a bitch about getting ticked out. Sometimes I worsen stops to give it room and it usually gets worse. Really need to stop doing that shit.

Well I am sure you have doubled or tripled your account since Jan1, but you need to know when to transition out of the "hit-rate" conundrum. I can't tell you when that is, but hopefully you get there before it takes you out.

I know a guy who turned $500 into $31k in a week. Ended the following week with $500.

I am not intentionally going for high hit-rate. I will almost always move stop to B/E or +ticks as soon as I see any profit. It's the days that I don't see immediate profit that get me.

I'm 1,000% sure the book is playing Bayesian games because I typically see x^2 and -x^2 type moves against entry

Yeah, but the BPs aren't shooting for 10-ticks. Most of your trades are well within stat-vol for the holding period. It's tough when you're using broker haircut intraday.

It's another best day of the year for me! That's two days in a row! I'm very happy to have such a good day in such slow and choppy conditions.

+45

February is finished for me. I can definitely say that I have learned a lot this month and gained some valuable experience. Again, I failed to post a positive month, but it is again not that far off from break even. The amount I lost this month is equivalent to one day of trading for me. I did overtrade a bit, but I never let any one trade or day really hurt me badly. Hmmm...now that I look back, the amount I lost in February is just a bit less than the $27 I lost on an order entry error I made on 2/7/13. That makes me feel a little better. The main thing that hurt me this month was the over trading. There were days that my trades just weren't working and I should have just sat tight and waited for something really good or for another day. I had five big losing days this month that each averaged -$34. Those days are what really negatively affected my P/L. For March, I will be more patient and selective.

Feb Stats:
P/L: -24.16
Win%: 40.70
Avg W/ Avg L: 1.36

I was able to get my win percentage up about 3 points vs Jan, but my avg win to loss ratio dropped .27.

Chuck,

When I first started trading some, over trading was a big problem for me. I would realize the conditions weren't good, but I would still try to force a trade anyways. Sitting on your hands occasionally can definitely help your P&L.

Hi everyone, i think I'll join the thread

I'll post blotter daily since i mostly day trade

I'm fairly new to the game.. so far this year I'm down 1.6%..trying to make a come back

I trade currencies.

I struggle with emotions... not letting losing trades or lack of setups bother me.

Today's P&L : $60

+ ~22k for month.

Once again, not impressive (although, green). My week and half in NYC wasn't not good for my p/l or pocket book. Luckily I made back about 35k in the last 7 days of the month to finish where I did.

Had an FXY trade that went bad and couple of options position and spreads I didnt get out of while i was gone. Looked like it was a pretty active week that I missed as well.

P/L is just top to bottom, in no other order. Have a couple of other accounts listed that are distracting so filtered them out.

Hope everyone else did better and look forward to a good March.

I keep telling people that 'flat' is just as valid of a position as long and short. (Not that I discovered the notion or anything, lol)

Desirable when there's no edge to be found at the time.

+11.4% for the week.

System is tracking on target. YTD results:

Total Trades: 35
Win%: 57%
Lose%: 43%
PF: 2.91
Total Return: +48.8%

Hopefully I'll crack the big 50% in March. +50% in the first quarter!
