Flat again today...about +4k for week, at best. Was super choppy toward end of week. Tough market. Posted Mon and Tues, wed-fri small losses...not worthy of a posting.
Hopefully next week will be better.
Been picking up a couple shares of vxx at these levels, more as a hedge than anything. R/R doesn't make much sense in feb calls right now...might sell some puts next week. Any thoughts from our resident experts in Vol? Demark indicator at 13 on daily as well, figure it's worth a shot with debt ceiling debate coming up.

To get a long vol position I would look at straight up vix calls...in some variation possibly also Fly, back spread etc..I fear vol will stay low right to the edge of any deadline...who really knows. Sucks that the central banks put a lid on stuff..wish I could help more
Thought about a spread, but the medium term getting bid up, vs collapsing short. I trade options based more on feel, instead of any mathematical model. Feb mar 30 calls need a big move to get in money....thinking I d rather blow the 1-2 bucks on equity at current levels and hold til feb or march... Again, a bit more of a hedge that mite turn into a trade if d.c. flubs. Options are cheap as volatility is low, except on volatility....
Tiny winners just kept turning into losers. It was a difficult day.
