Trader P/L 2012

Another one of those days where every single trader in the office was up. We all trade the same methodology, which I guess makes sense sometimes.

Do you guys trade imbalances at all?

How am I doing?

Oct. 1: +3.6%
Oct. 2: +3.71%
Oct. 3: Flat
Oct. 4: +0.45%

All in all, after compounding, up about +8.12% for the week so far. I trade Volatility. I'm new to this forum and I'm looking to get an assesment on how I'm doing. October is the first month I plan on running my strategy (developed and tested from mid-July till end of Sept) for full profits to see what my returns can be.

What are you guys averaging for returns monthly, after compounding? I'm looking for a target of anywhere from 54-100% return monthly.

Super lol to that. I'm happy with the same as nj. You must have some nice vol model, good luck.
I would urge pl posters to post actual screen blotters here so we don't go down the road of the rest of et posting nonsense posturing of activity that really only happens in their imagination, lol.

Do I take a screenshot of my trading account or from wherever I keep-track of my P/L? I keep my P/L records outside of my account. Does this pass as credible?

Also, yes, I'm hoping the vol model works out for October. I'm sitting in an overnight trade currently and hoping that doesnt sour my trading for Friday tomorrow. I want to close the week without a loss!

IMHO any strategy that would return 54-100% a month, will ultimately have 1 month with a loss of 54-100%... When that happens, all the profits and the original principal is lost and you can start from scratch again.

The strategy relies on several factors. The main factor being daily compounding. While 54-100% return a month may sound absurd, we are only dealing with maintaining an average daily return of 2-3%.

My greatest single day loss so far has been 5.05%. In order to lose 54-100% a month, I'd have to have a solid 21 trading days being down 2-3%. Very unlikely. And, something would change in the strategy to turn things around. I would not wait 21 days bleeding red before I figured that out.
