Some people go by the account liquidation value/nav - I could come up with a strategy that has realized profits everyday by simply closing winners and letting losers run, but you probably wouldn't want to actually trade that.

Not saying that's what sellindexvol66 is doing, just offering perspective. IMO, there's plenty of ways of calculating PL based on margining, what/how you trade, and who's money you're managing.

some of you guys must not read posts, yet you comment ...i simply will never understand why people put so much time in posturing nonsense when you could instead be searching for edge out there.

you do not know what i do..but rest assured what i am posting is my personal private "trading" account's REALIZED profits. one of a few i own.

Funds do go by their mtm performance - there are unrealized profits as well as losses. I definetely follow my performance that way as well (holding most positions several days)
