Trader P/L 2009

Finally I was able to bag a big one. It was scary for a while as I was going into after hours with 21 cars (before the holiadys).

A personal record for me. I wanted to get that magic 40 but in the end ..... I just could not wait any longer.

BTW Spooz .... eat that!!!!

I worked harder than most people in this site. someone thought I am paiting a big picture of myself. I wrote my journal from march 2007 in miscrosoft powerpoint, some even in video, I reviewed them periodicaly (that is why I have march 6 Dow data the exact bottom, april 12 2007 QQQQ data, I traded those days). I have strict business plan, documneted my mistakes and timetable to correct them, periodicalyt eveluate my trading skills to find where I am standing or at what stage.

I started in end of 2004. in 2005,2006, I lost some and I paid high tution. I did not make much profit in 2007, 2008 (far less than my former C++ software enginerr job) even I worked very hard, hard to say I was making a living from trading, better to say I was learning or playing. I was often ahead of the game then down to the tunnel.

I reached this point, I realized I need separate myself from my old self, also here stuggling traders. so I will make the choice: that is my last post. good luck to all.

BTW. I already figured out the IB's PNL problem. IB used different algorithms to caculate PNL. in your tws trading page, the PNL is caucluted using averaging price (round-off effect, that is why I got $***.7 starge pnl incrude, I bought 2contracts at 74.23, and one at 74.19 last friday in the opening), the portifilio page used mark-to market accounting method, so the pnl isinflated or deflatedor distorted. I learned the lesson about PNL, so I do not make my trading decision based on PnL, I did not paymuch attention to it, thanks for someone's questioning and Ilearned something again.

in the account page, because of future trading's mark-to market accounting, ifyou trade around the cutting time or hold through, becasue of delay in PNL refreshing (created mixing results from this trading session and another one, normally the delay is something around 2 to3 hours)

again, this is my last post.

good luck to all

Congrats on your recent success.

That said, the first sentence is what makes you come across pompous. You work harder? Says... you. I'm sure I am not alone in working 90-100 hours week in, week out (not an exaggeration) at this.

None of my business, but your post reads like someone who really thinks he has "made it" because he's nicely profitable for 11/12 of one year. Having been there, I can't help but think back to when I "had it all figured out through my hard work". Mr. Market is a cruel mistress and proceeded to make me her bitch- something I would have never deemed possible given my steady flow of averaging 95 profitable days per 100 for a long time. Some, like Red Ink, Szeven, etc never look back and, in fact, rocket higher; others falter and never recover. IMHO, your tone presages falling into the latter camp. Stop by in a couple of years and let us know.
