yeah, what he said. imploded over 200m in less than 10 days in Oct (for all to c here). had 'draw downs' >100m more than once during the year, but doing it so late had a much more damaging effect. bounced back some in Nov to positive for the year. of course, i'd have made more $ managing an Arby's....

since this is a P&L thread.... up $1038 for the night. was down 6m and spent 8 testicularly challenged hours clawing back above water. still down 5m for month...

QID finally caught up with me+14 today back from -$900 at worst time and final 45 minutes brought it back to life.

No patience and bad discipline.

Take any acceptable maximum level of risk and multiply by 5 and that's what caused my drawdown...it's really quite simple i was loaded tits deep in a few select stocks - i held over 2 million in capital in four stocks for several days in a row. I'm not making any excuses it was stupid, the writing was on the wall evidenced by the standard deviations in my account equity in the two months preceding the drawdown...so i learned a very valuable lesson and have already taken the steps to to recovery...a valuable chat with Rob has helped me formalize rules that weren't in place and i'm very confident i will make the money back shortly.

Oh and all my pair trading is not automated, completely discretionary.
 
wow ..... squeezed in the morning struggled to make even money was +400 by 2pm only to lose everything with today's sell off which i waited for the whole day .... as i said squeezed in the morning then buried in the afternoon ..... ended -859.7208
