That's truly amazing. My sincere congratulations Szeven!

Although I have never corresponded with you personally, I've been keeping track of your progress routinely, ever since I became a member here on ET.

You are one of the guys I tried to emulate in terms of both consistency and the rate at which you were able to grow.

Although I'm just a retail guy trading with 25k account, I've managed to make six-figures this year, and this was my first year trading full-time.

Although I am not sure I can make the jump you made from 2006 to 2007, I'm going to certainly try to at least triple what I made this year. It can be done!

I hope the success continues, Szeven!

Quote from Szeven:

Good day again today. Month total about 111k. Not going to trade on Monday, so today is the last day of 2007 for me.

That brings the tally to a little over 1.1m on the year. Take home income on the year after split and everything from trading is about 1m (just made it!)

Its been a crazy year. On Jan 1st, I set my goal of 1k a day, 20k a month, 250k on the year. From the pictures of the blotters, and my posts, it probably looks fairly smooth sailing to blow this goal out of the water, but as with a lot of people on this site, im sure theres a lot more backstory that just isnt written out. I wont bore everyone with tales of woe or anything like that, but while your waiting for that next opening bell after you close out your daytrading positions and go home for the night, life happens, and trading is very good at confusing, clouding, and straight up destroying that!

I have decided that today will be my last blotter posting on this site.

Its been a great ride during my learning curve, and without the support of the people around me im sure id be working at Money Mart. Thank you to: mnx, AutoMate, Redink/MM/the local crew + office boys, MRNBBO, all the guys in the chats im in, and of course, my swift BM and good ol PB. As much as i have grudges, I really owe my trading career to swift and their business model. Without their entreprenurial spirit, however ruthless and inflexible (lol), if they hadnt taken a chance or me or the market, again, id be at Money Mart. Similar to those inpirational stories that i read before i started trading of people driving into Worldco in a beat up car, a suitcase of clothes, and $500; a few short years or less walking out with $1-3m + to their name, I was actually able to walk into Swift 2.5 years ago, and today be able to say almost the same thing. So as for this thread, and the original question of can you make money daytrading, the answer is most certainly yes!

In the next little while i plan to focus more on automation, and lifestyle balance. Trading has become more about the money, and less about the true spirit and love of it. I remember making $5.77 my first day at swift, and being the happiest person in the world. Now i can make thousands in a day and go home grumpy and angry that i didnt make more. Its just not healthy to correlate your mood and personality to how your doing on your trading blotter. Something i feel i am still learning.

So thanks again to everyone for their daily support, PM's, emails, chats etc, and I hope to be able to grow more in not just trading, but in life over the next year. Peace out!

I've kept a close eye your blotters from the start, and every one of your accomplishments is truly amazing. If anybody out there is looking to be a successful trader, this it the guy to emulate.

Although you might have modest goals (again) for the new year, I'd imagine that 8 figures is something you'll hit sooner, rather than later. Truly amazing!

GL buddy

By far the best post in ET thru all of 2007. Trading is merely a vehicle for cash to enhance life... not some obsession to center one's life around.

EVERY trader with zero exceptions should heed your words every day upon first glance at their screens. I certainly will, and thank you for that.

szeven and lescor have been two of the highest class acts ET was ever graced with. A major reason myself (and many others I'm sure) tuned in daily was to share the journey with you. Anyone who actively trades knows full-well what you experience each day.

This thread in particular and the site in general misses both of you. Take great care, and here's wishing everyone personal best achievements in 2008.

Take care Szeven. I enjoyed following your posts here daily, truly inspirational to watch you progress. I wish you the best of luck with your plans for the future.

had one of my few losing weeks this week
all it took was a few hours actually ... funny thing is my positions
did not seem SO LARGE at the time for me
lesson ( not quite learned yet ) :
not to trade certain hours of the day
that historically are bad for me
( i.e. when the dark side has their supercomputers on )
oh well ...
here are the numbers
week
( minus 4 1/2 - 5 1/2 % )
year ( with one day to go )
plus 165 - 170 %

PS .... a good 2008 for all traders and congrads to those who had better yrs than me and to those who have not given up
the 'dream' of trading for a living

Second month into full time trading.

Slightly positive for the month. Glad to see that the biggest winning day is larger than the biggest losing day.

Learned how to fight back when losing big. Did it again today, was down more than $400. The trick now is how to achieve big positive PNL first. Gotta cut losers quicker, let winners run longer, and establish more winning positions.

Can trade with less anxiety and fear, but not quite there yet.

Hope for a better month and a better year to come.

Best wishes and good tradings to all!
