A great start to the month.

I attached my trades as an excel file, for anyone who's interested. My best day ever. No large winners, either, just small consistent winners building up to a great day.

Quote from riskymove:

I worked for a hedge fund for the last three years and for a mutual fund company a few years before that. I did lose more than I wanted on my first day but I also followed my discipline pretty well for it being the first day out on my own and feel comfortable given my strategy and my account.

I've been trading for over 7 months and have only in the last 6weekish been consistently profitable (is that even long enough to use the word consistent? probably not). My worst day ever was $800, where I was down $500 and got filled 45 cents out of the money unexpectedly. There's no reason to lose that much in learning... do you really have enough capital to lose that much every day for a year? If not, you're not giving yourself a fair chance to succeed.

I've seen hotshot ex-broker punks (not saying you're one at all, obviously you have more relevant experience) blow through over $25k in a month because they thought they knew how to trade... they're not in the business anymore.

Why is it that you feel it's necessary to give yourself so much room on the downside so early in the game? Keep in mind at this stage, you should be trading to learn, not trading to make money. The money comes once you learn.

Decent action today. No grotesque hammers to speak of. Finished at +1578. Happy 4th to all the Yankees.
