I want to be clear - I can open a Roth account or transfer mine to IB and use it to daytrade (it is over $25K) - yes? Thanks for this info, just want to clarify.

The answer is yes as long as you choose margin account when you fill your IRA application. You can day trade your IRA account as long as your IRA account equity is more than 25k. In addition, you can trade options and futures in this account even its equity is less than $25,000. However, you cannot borrow money in your margin IRA account. As far as I know, IB is the only broker who allow you to day trade your IRA account.
