Trader P/L 2006

I was planning on starting to post mine again ill start tomorrow.

Quote from Szeven:

I would definatly like to see some new people post everyday. I only have one blotter and its not difficult to copy so i dont find it a hassle to post. Not to mention as i have said this serves as a record keeping system of some sort as it has me save png's of my blotter on the comp everyday. Anyone whos worked at swifttrade probably knows someone who has been dicked around by some bop error.

It would be cool i think if, perhaps as a concession of some sorts, those who find it difficult to post everyday post maybe weekly or monthly with a summary of their performance and maybe some commentary on their personal trading or the markets or something. I just like hearing about anything that has to do with trading, and who better to hear it from than people who trade and/or people who make thick dough.

I stopped posting because I got tired of trying to defend myself against the small few who are inflamed from jealousy or whatever their intentions. Plus, the effort of answering the same questions over and over again were mentally draining, and far outweighed the amount of time I was willing to put into it.

I think if anything a cool scenario would be a televised daytrading contest among 100 or so traders. I think the people of the good ol' USA would watch it! Hell they have flava flav on tv for crying out loud!

100 traders competing for a million or so, let the cameras in their own homes and roll the tape. then maybe some of the trash on this board would stop their ranting, cuz' if its on tv then it has to be true!

sorry just wanted to reiterate:D

all these halfwits who question the blotters probably actually believe this to be true

btw mskmummy i always wanted to hear how you did on lucent the day they did a half billion in volume care to share??

Yup, we're all still here, lurking.

I guess I should get back to posting my P/L, the months I posted were my best. It put my nose to the grindstone to show you guys some good numbers....it got me motivated.

Glad to see a showing from lescor and Echopatrick, really enjoyed sharing ideas with Patrick.
Szeven....wow, wish I roped you into part of my team--you've come a long ways, enjoy it--you've earned it.

Red Ink inc, glad ta see ya here still tearin' it up....where's your bro MM?

Steve, glad to see you here too....

So many people I'd love to have a chat with. Funny how our own strategies can be improved with a different view that other good traders here may have a take on.

Here's today's POS blotter.....chased my tail all day was +10.5k, then -3.8k......and finished a whopping +$200. (after all accounts figured in)

Cheers everyone! Nice to see the big dogs back.

the moderator has stated if you don't post daily don't post.
Quote from bighitter1:

i'm just repeating what the moderator said. he said it was counterproductive for someone to post only now and then when that person has a good day.
I find these two claims fascinating, first because they are complete misstatements of my post, and second because the complaints are coming from someone who has NEVER bothered to post his own blotter. Here is what I actually said:

Quote from Magna:

a few regulars have requested that if someone is going to post in this thread they should attempt to do so on a regular basis. Reason being, everyone likes to see the stellar days, but what people learn from is when you take a few moments to post a little more consistently. That way things don't feel cherry-picked and people can realistically see The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly. With that said, thanks to everyone who posts their trading blotters, especially those who post them regularly.
Anyway, I welcome all people who take the time to post their blotters. That includes whether they are profitable (or not), at whatever level they are at, and whether (or not) they happen to "inspire" Shreddog and mschey.

I understand where you are coming from. However, trading does involve downside & a learning curve which most of you, are well aware. A thread titled "Trader P/L 2006" should incorporate both the good (profits) and the bad (losses) at the same time. The readers of this thread should be inspired by those of you who do well on average, and should also be reminded of the downsides of trading.

If only more inspiring blotters are posted & bad ones are filtered out. This would be an open invation for those who like to challenge one's track records.

I post b/c this is a way to keep myself honest. By posting my net & share size on the top two line. I can do a search on myself in the form, and see what I did. (I do keep detail records of my trades)

Quote from Shreddog:

No offense to Swing Out and Pete, but I am not inspired by them. In fact, I wonder why they have chosen this forum rather than starting journals where they can get feedback that might help them up the learning curve.

Why don't you inspire us all and post a few of your blotters!

Figured I'd throw my 2 cents in here. First of all, I appreciate anyone who (on a regular basis) posts their blotter here. Especially the beginners trading in 100 lots. It's nice to see your progress as I was once in your shoes. Did any of the haters actually start off trading 10k lots in MSFT? I didn't think so.

I have been at this a long time and like to think I have at least some clue of what I am doing, but to assume I can learn nothing from a beginner is a tad pompous. The day you stop learning in this game (and yes there is plenty to be learned from 100 lotters) is the day you're finished.

In closing, let's see some more damn blotters. :D :D

I agree that 100 lotters offer lessons too. But on this thread only blotters are allowed. So what do you really expect to learn from them here?

I think the 100 lotters would be far better suited to start up a journal where they can discuss what they are doing along with their blotters and get real feedback.

I'm going to sleep on it and decide if I should post my blotters for a while.

Tell me what you've learned from someone posting his/her blotter? My guess is nothing. This is not a strategy discussion thread. This thread serves two purposes. It allows great traders to gain some recognition and it motivates traders to be the best they can be. That's it!
