Trader P/L 2006 Questions and Discussion

I though this would be an interesting strategy to get others to reveal to you their methods in return for the masters guidance.

How come no one PM's me?????

Bloody good entertainment.

These are from nysekiller...

Thanks JMowery. I trade a basket of about 20 different stocks, vlo, spy, gs, xom are a few of the fast moving stocks that I trade. I scale in and out of my positions. I try to build a position to around 20 to 50k shares, but it doesn't always work out for me. Like RM the amount of time I hold a position can range from 10 minutes to the whole day, but I always start to get out about 15 mintues before the close. Anyways I will keep on posting my blotter but I got to run, the last hour is always the best. Keep at it, cause from what I see you love the market and have the drive to make it big. I'll be talking to ya.

Did sound convincing, that was last month.

I might start posting again, a few people have asked that I do. Don't know if I'm still killing the markets but I am putting up my best numbers, I don't think there is a way to just click and have it send an order out for you, and quickest way with out the hot keys in to have a lv1 open for the stock your trading and its about two clicks and your order is out there. I've read the manual too and there are a few things unclear to me, the basket orders which I use kicked me in the balls a few days back, cost me 8k but I think it was my stupidty and not setting them up right, anyways hopefully this helps and we'll be talking.

That was last week.

The bold statement does bother me a bit, as he was making insane money, and I don't know why 8k would be a blow to anyone that makes over that amount easily.... Just weird Also contradicting himself on the first bold statement.

I do know there is that stupid thing with the demo with limit orders getting instantly filled (that is stupid...)

Crazy stuff happening on ET lately.

I still don't understand why anyone would do that.... it doesn't make them a better trader by trying to prove to others on a forum that most you will never meet that you can put up amazing numbers. Respect, yes, but other than that, I don't see why anyone lies about their blotters unless they are trying to sell something, in which case lies are plentiful.

This is why the people I trust on ET has been few and far between, I guess I should tighten up!

The MODS deleted the posts....anything off topic of the Trader P&L thread is/was deleted.
Yes, the moderator deleted the post. However, and as I mentioned to the moderator in a reply to his PM, I thought that my comments were entirely on topic. If memory serves, mschey, you directed a subsequently deleted and rather unfriendly post at me for daring to raise the question. Am I mistaken?

NyseKiller = busted.... the question is, what i'm thinking here is if Szeven you know him for 8 months wat an embarassing moment it would be for him... how could he face u ever again...

hahahaha too funny.

When I questioned nysekiller in the P&L thread in late July about his performance in a somewhat critical but polite manner, my post was deleted before nysekiller even posted his response:

http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=1145712#post1145712

Naturally, there were a couple of nasty posts directed at me for daring to raise any questions. Those posts were deleted as well.
It wasn't that your post was "impolite", but that I have asked repeatedly that we stay strictly on trading blotters. The thread is a whopping 400+ pages long and easily gets cluttered with posts about software, brokerage houses, prop firms, strategies, per-share pricing, how to do a screenshot, platforms, etc. etc. As I've received countless complaints from people who want to see the blotters every day but don't want to wade thru any additional clutter I have asked repeatedly that you take all other questions to existing threads or start your own. That's why your post and others (by people complaining about you) were removed. The best solution was exactly what polpolik did by starting this thread. It's a perfect place to discuss any and all things related to the Trader P/L thread.

Magna, I understand your point, but please understand mine. If someone posts bullshit, are we just expected to inhale, with the poster remaining unfettered in the thread?

i thought the guy really found a top notch mentor with whom he got very close and learned how to pull off those numbers...but at the same time i was wonderin' who on earth was so willin' to disclose his strategies to some1 he just got to know....because frankly there aint no way u get to progress so far so fast on your own...let's see if the guy can come clean or what. l'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

LOL you serious? You really should not have posted that cause it makes u look a bit naive. No offense, I'm just being honest.

Man it took you guys long enough. It was obvious the guy was full of it and probably blew out at Swift. I mean come on, is this 1999 or smth? Without taking insane risk, there is no way u jump from rebate trading for a couple hundred a day to putting up even over 10k. Even then, it would require a ridiculous amount of luck.

That P&L thread is mostly suspect. I know who the real folk in there are, in fact, I'm wondering why Steve T. still bothers posting in there. Hope you getting some recruits from there, Steve.
Otherwise, why would anyone keep on posting in there unless you had some ego issues to take care of. I posted in there like over a year ago several times, one bad day, the rest good. But after that, it just loses the appeal, what's the point? Maybe I'm weird but I do not need approval based on my daily P&L from this message board.
For that reason alone I know ppl mess with their blotters, selectibely post and even go to lengths that nysekiller did. Most of you guys judge your life on your P&L, real or imagined, so of course you gotta expect the BS and lots of it. As if you could not see it coming, this is EliteTrader after all. Don't forget a nice grain of salt when you check out threads like that.

fact is that money can be made in this crappy mkt and i give the benefit of the doubts to everyone, if u dont believe money can be made day in day out maybe u have issues that goes beyond doubtin' some1's blotters.

If you trade at firm with a profitable group, you know that money can be made. Even if you trade remote and conversate via AIM or just talk honestly with ur manager, you know money can be made.

If you need a suspect P&L thread and a gullible mindset to believe that money can be made, then you need to get out more. I can't help somehow insulting you but if you traded at firms where u saw people's P&Ls on a daily basis, traded next to them & learned from them, you could see through most of the BS in that thread.
