the MAIN problem here consists of four letters... AMEX! about 13 years ago i went thru my whole AIQ database and deleted every single amex stock. unless it is an ETF i would strongly recommend trading on NY or OTC. forget those wannabe specialists on the scam exchange. it will cost you serious $$$ trading with those ^^&(#&*
 
I lost $1.13 on WLS the other day on the next print and I can guarentee you there was no way out for less than that loss. Thats the way it goes sometimes. Luckily I only had 300 shares so it was only a $350 loss. Glad i didnt take 1000+ shares!

In my experience when taking a large loss, which is obviously rare, i find i could have got out many times before but i say the most dangerous thing i can think of being: "well im already down xxx, ill just wait for it to come back because i dont want to realize this loss".

Is that even partially true for yourself, or did it actually drop that far with no chance to get out?

hope you fellas grabbed some of the BIDU ipo. I ain't seen nothing like it since bubble daze. I dabbled a little but check out the timing on this blotter:

once i find my nutes. i played size on the teeny ATRC ipo for nice gain a half hour before. coulda made the year on BIDU...
 
Managed to pull 12k from bidu, even though I was trading micro size and completely missed the last 25 point move...haven't seen that manic buying for a while now. A rather subpar performance actually.

I KNOW there are traders here who cleared 50k+ on the stock. Makes you wish it was 5 years ago.
