Trader Monthly RIP

Quote from marketsurfer:

agree, they had several great writers and it was totally entertaining. their trader parties were a hoot--girls, cigars, drinks, watches, cars--- all the good stuff!

Come on, is anyone really surprised by this, within the next 5 years hundreds of magazines wont exist, there is no reason to buy magazines anymore when the content can be found online or smart phone.

There will be no such thing as newspapers or magazines in the next 5-10 years.

:p :p :p :p :p
Thinking we'd be utilizing technology to it's fullest, I said the same thing 15 years ago.

I think that having to go more mainstream and less 'macho', did it in.

True. Those parties were completely male dominated with nothing appealing for the sausages.

i disagree. people love the tactile factor in magazines, they are not going away untill this can be duplicated digitally. high tech and high touch is the future.

From what little I know on the subject, sounds like HCIT could be the next major hi-tech boom.

And imagine the possibilities if the porn industry can get a hold of it :D

I wasn't referring to the parties.

And I should have expressed my thought more clearly. The 'macho' comment was meant more as for a strong mature male audience not to be confused with infantile male chauvinism.

you mean you are jelous of rich young guys with fancy cars?

I have never seen the magazine. However, from what I understand, it was high-gloss and focused considerably on uber-materialism. That's all well and good, but the fact that they had to give the magazine away for free despite its supposedly high-end readership and $10 sticker price was certainly an early warning sign, don't you think? And evidently, the advertisers weren't moving their wares despite all the pomp and circumstance. What was the magazine's slogan? For poseurs, by poseurs?
