IMO when you start trading (it was mentioned earlier) spending 100k on a car isn't spending 100k on a car... if you're any good at trading its spending 500k+ on that car.... people start to realize that the oppertunity cost of owning anything especially when that money makes you money is ALOT higher than the sticker price.
At the same time too i think traders are focused on trading... every dollar is another dollar to continue trading with... its no longer about what you can buy but how much you can make
