Im done for the day. wiped it all out and then some but i got it all back plus a few dollars. I am not sure if i would have made that big of a swing in a big account thought it was a lot of risk for 3 dollars of overall gain. but positive yet again. account at 2083
up net 383 for the week.
that is roughly 19 %
have a great weekend. keep up the hard work
 
once i get the account doubled i will be closing down the small account challenge. (sac)

as i go about my day i am thinking about my trades this week. i am thinking what mistakes did i make and how can i get better.

what could i have done with hindsight that might have worked better in real time? where did i cost myself risk free money by exiting winners too early and how can i do a better job at that task. why did i start to think its friday the nq mkt is ridiculously overbought it must sell off.

why didnt i buy a lot more once winning and try and grab more money.

these are always going on in the back of mind. why dont i try some new ideas for execution and why are my results lower than anticipated with my new platform?

its because i am not uses to the trading platform. small nuances even in the platform can fatigue you. i am getting some mild head aches and not sleeping as well since the new platform

it is not the actual platform so far tradeovate fills n speed are just as good as the next one. But there are some high contrast issues due to the numbers turning bright white at times contrasted on a black background. i use the charts and i use the dom together. sometimes i chart trade sometimes i dom trade and dom trading is way way more taxing on the mind and the eyes since the mkt moves so rapidly.
 
Someone asked me to show the number of trades that I do and my answer to this is with an example. it can be manipulated but i do like the idea of net gains or losses per share or per contract.

10 lots 100 dollars net profit = 10 per lot gain
10 lots 300 dollars net profit= 30 per lot gain
what of the first example the 10 dollars per lot was actually 10 dollars gained on 10 lots.

but the second example was 100 lost on 1 lot 300 gained on second lot ..so after 2 lots we are at plus 200..then 500 lost on 3rd lot so negative 300 and so on until our last lot made lets say 800 dollars net but we were down 500 net after 9 lots overall so we ended up with 10 lots giving 300 dollars of profit for an average of 30 gained per lot.

i like averaging this way but it really doesnt tell you much about what was going on in the inside of the trade sets. unless u have a purely mechanical system the best measure of success is profitability daily weekly monthly yearly for discretionary traders. just an opinion. i have days where i do 10 lots total and i have had days where i do 1000 lots in a day. it all depends where i am at on the day.

am i digging out of holes i made or am i working towards a grandslam trade setup and i pounced . these are things you luckily get to start to do once u get it and you have a skillset edge.

you can start to realize ok..i can layer this..i can keep doing this but keep my eyes peeled for the big one! anticipate the big trade and be ready for it to happen.

The chances of NQ VIX having a significant volume is virtually zero.

But I do notice volume % could increase significantly.
eg yesterday volume could be 1.
today volume could be 2 (ie 100% increase).

I wish I could find it in my datafeed. I don't think AMP is currently offering it. Hell, I search for it (VolQ) on the CME site and I can't find it. Max, have a link to it's spec page?

it has an open interest of 2 right now and it was difficult to find. you can use the nasdaq vix statistics though
