no, we just don't call them "pensioners." in USA, pensions are private between the employer and the employee and none of your business.

Here even the rich get a basic state pension. It barely covers food though.
we have a public system called "social security", even the lowest recipient should make enough to cover rent and utilities, and if that isn't enough, we also have something called "food stamps" for groceries. The social security system is going broke, but could easily be fixed by raising social security taxes now instead of being forced to later. Food stamps are no big deal. What's killing us is something called Medicare, which is almost identical to your one payer system, although here only people over the age of 65 qualify.
so, on the issue of government paid healthcare, you, and anybody from your country, and me, and anybody from my country have quite a bit to talk about. Over here it's an economical hopeless mess, what's it like over there?

well, I'll go with the Scottish Nationalists. I don't hate you personally, but we as a country hate the King, and always have. A lot of us died to get that greedy asshole off our backs. And that is why USA is so great, because we are one of the few countries that can say, "We fought and died for our freedom."

Never could figure out The Fifth Amendment ? No offence but many a criminal must have been glad of it. I remember the old films of the mobsters answering every question put to them by the Grand Jury with the Fifth. Much better to conclude they are covering up misdeeds or crimes and find them guilty after umpteen murders etc.

It's just in name only as we all have someone on our backs whether they are called King , President, Chairman or whatever.
I can't think of anyone who is totally free. It's just a word that politicians use to fool the masses - sounds good but usually turns sour after the revolution and you got another load of bastards on yer back.

Maybe that explains a lot about the new sub cultures. They don't want to be just part of a conglomeration. They dress wildly, clothes and hair. Say and do anything to prove they aren't ordinary.
The old kings from centuries back had a lot of power but not these days.
