TOS for stocks

I currently use E-Trade but was thinking of switching to TOS. Ive been reading this forum for a few weeks and notice alot of you like TOS for options. Are they perfectly fine for standard stock trading as well, or do alot of you only do your option trading there?
 
I negotiated a very reasonably reate with TOS for Stocks. Though IB is MUCH better commish wise... TOS is much better than where you are at.. PM me and I'll detail what I negotiated....
 
I do trade options as well. Not alot though. I probably make 2-3 options trades per month.

Whats wrong with the strock trading at TOS? From what I see, its basically $5-$9.95 per trade depending on which commission schedue youre using. Right now Im paying $5 per stock trade because Im a former Brown customer but its going t up to $9.95 at the end of the year, so it seems TOs would be the same or cheaper for stocks.
 
I don't know about the analysis tools available at TOS and other brokers but for low rates, look at IB... 1/2 a cent a share with a $1 minimum. Being able to scale in and out of a position iis a big plus in my book.

Options are 75 cts a contract and exercise is free.

If you like the tools at TOS or elsewhere, open both.

OPTIONS: Smart Routed: <=10,000 Monthly Contracts

Premium less than .05 is commish of 25 cts per contract
Premium of .05 to .09 per is commish of 50 cts per contract
Premium 10 cts or more is 75 cts per contract

Minimum fee per transaction is $1.00


EQUITIES:

1/2 a cent per share with a minimum of $1 per transaction

100 shares = $1
200 shares = $1
1000 shares = $5

There are some other qualifiers like a maxium fee of 0.5% of trade value plus exchange, ECN, and specialist fees but that only come into play on the < $1 stocks.
