TOS is very bloated & sluggish. It also got bugged, crashing system reported then quietly fixed. I have spent considerable time to improve my system, running into bugs and what's not so I don't see any way to get around it besides helping yourself & your system to a tolerable point or move to a different platform. Things that you can do
1) Have 8GB memory and set TOS memory 2GB-6GB.
2) Have an Intel CPU instead of AMD CPU system. I have talked to the developer and he said it shouldn't be the issue but I have 2 identical TOS Chart setup, one w/ Intel i7 2.6GHz 8GB, GTX-970M consistently below 15% CPU usage and one w/ AMD Phenom 6x at 3.5GHz, 8GB, GTX-970, consistently in the range of 33-39% CPU usage. Each of them have one main window and 2 detached windows. Each window has 3 charts. The AMD is 2-3 time worse than the Intel setup.
3) Minimum indicators if you use it. My setup above use simple indicators I wrote to display ranges, high-low swing points w/ minimum resource usage. Try to eliminate charts & indicators then look at CPU usage to see which one causing the most problem then try to live w/o it.
4) Blank all default windows in TOS if you don't use it.
Good luck to you.
