LOL, yes, I've done those things. However, I couldn't imagine the mind F I'd go through doing the opposite of what I think. Then at some point I'd be out thinking myself so much I wouldn't be able to execute a thing. Focused on getting my win rate up another 7-8%, and will just continue finding ways to make the odds work in my favor. Hopefully this is just something that comes with more experience.

I didn't become profitable until as No_Doji says flipped it the other way, huge losses until that point it finally clicked in and was able to enter with a trend rather than expecting every trend to turn instantly.
You can after the fact, see the trades turn, you don't see all of the times they don't turn, why I used to trade your way, but your wayyyy better at holding for longer than me

I will say I'm not throwing out fliers all day at high and lows. There is a little more to the way I trade than that. A good bit of the time I'm on trend. Yes, I've been far too early trying to jump the gun on trend change. It's part of the nature of the way I trade, and a little less "painful" when swinging ES. Those 50 pointers were clearing weeks of losers. Now I'm getting plus 5's, 10's, occasional 20 with the day trades. Just something I'll have to learn to adapt to. Improving my entries even by 7% would drastically improve my profits. My exits are definitely in need of some refining though.

As to the holding longer, Maybe just do to the fact that even though most of my trades are "day trades", I'm coming from a swing perspective. I'm rarely taking 2 or 3 point trades. I'm usually looking 10 plus. When I'm getting hit on low profit trades, it's just from me adjusting stops.
Thanks, a little sloppy in the beginning so far, but not down a ton or anything. Last two weeks I've been off a bit. So I've eased off until I'm seeing it better, haven't made a trade since Friday. Working on that patience part when I'm just not feeling it.
Saw one ok entry so far today, but it was premarket. The open looked like it was gonna give me a good op as well, but didn't quite pull in to where I was watching. So far just grinding, so probably wait until tomorrow. Patience

Not too much to report, as I haven't really been trading my Topstep account. My account right now is roughly flat. More just staring at my screen most of the day. During the early part of May, basically right after I started the funded account I found at my father was going on life support. I kind of tried to just push through in the beginning, but nothing was working out. I wasn't really following my strategy at all. Luckily I wasn't just throwing off orders and being insanely reckless. I just wasn't taking trades with a good r/r, and I was killing trades almost instantly. Now I'm just having trouble even putting a trade on........
Now that my father has passed, I'm feeling like I'm getting back to being ready again. I just want to make sure I'm approaching it with a clear head. This is something I personally love, and have a passion for. I don't want to get my self in to a situation where it ruins my confidence, which could have an effect on my future as a trader. In hindsight, I should've held off last month on trading and let myself deal with what was going on. Lesson learned for the future.
