Petsamo

This is a very relevant question I promise to answer it in detail this week-end.

Have a Great Week-end!

Thanks!

Quote from Petsamo:

I define a downleg as a few days of selling, last seen in August.

We've been running up for two months without any serious pullback. Just a few days ago, you gave a cautiously sell recommendation, now you're giving a cautiously buy recommendation.

This economy is not out of the woods yet and the market is extremely vulnerable to a serious sell off. Watch for a sell the news event after the elections.

The table below is the % of Stocks above 40EMA and the S&P500 for the last 10 days.

Date %40EMA S&P-500*
29-Oct-10 75 1183
28-Oct-10 74 1184
27-Oct-10 77 1182
26-Oct-10 80 1186
25-Oct-10 82 1186

21-Oct-10 79 1180
20-Oct-10 82 1178
19-Oct-10 78 1166
18-Oct-10 87 1185

* sorry for the poor formatting, you might have to cut and paste it in excel.

So if you carefully look at the table, you can see that the market breadth has significantly come down but has not effected the overall markets. The markets seems to be chugging along while sector rotation takes place. In addition to the numbers above I also use other variables such as volume in share count and dollar count, thew new six-month highs made everyday, etc to keep a watch on the money flow. YES! we will soon be in the over bought phase. But we are not yet there. From my past experiences, I have left a lot of money on the table speculating.

As I have stated multiple times before, I am not here to speculate the market. I have no idea what is going to happen. I am here just to look for symptoms so that I can react quickly to protect my capital.

After years of study(I have a PhD), I have realized macroeconomic issues are NOT useful in trading.

Have a FANTASTIC week!

TGIF!

Markets have reached overbought levels. I am seeing extreme Market breadth numbers across the board.

This could be the beginning of another rally, who knows.

I am seeking to lock in my profits and exit my positions by the end of the day.

Cheers!

Hello Investics

How has your system performed since inception ? I have always been curious about the live results of RS based system when applied to mutual funds, with ETF's the ability to trade right at the close or in after-hours must work in your favor .
