I read the excerpt on Amazon (haven't decided whether or not to buy it) and I thought it was pretty entertaining. Tim Sykes may be over-promoting (is there such a thing?) but to be fair, his book doesn't seem all that bad.
A book that's on my list to buy is Market microstructure for practitioners by Harris.

To add some credibility, could you state some of the other books have you read? How they have influenced your trading? What other 4 books you would recommend to newbie traders?
Quite curious phrase "I am pretty excited about my trading career". Does this imply that you are anticipating success from the information contained in your, excuse me "his" book?
Thank you for an honest reply. You may consider reading some of the above referenced books, it may put the Hedge fund book in perspective.Quote from TheSorcerer:
I haven't read any other books yet. Tim's book is the only one I have read because I saw him on TV. But, I am now looking around to buy my 2nd book. Trading book that is. I have read my fair share other books for my classes.
