The top ten futures prop shops don't ask you to put up capital. They pay salaries. Many of them are in Chicago. They hire fairly selectively; generally multiple interviews culminating in flying you out, in my experience. I'm not sure what it's like for people with experience, but they usually recruit on campus at good STEM schools and the schools around Chicago. Anecdotally, they seem to value technical experience and coursework more than GPA and other factors traditional finance jobs value. Expect to be prescreened with brainteasers and probability questions and then some programming and algorithm related questions. Inevitably, every interview asks one or two questions that seem to come out of left field too. Don't expect to get anything on your first few interviews, but slowly you'll start to learn what they like to see and how to answer questions you don't know in such a way that you show some critical reasoning. Ask for hints without explicitly saying you're stuck and never give up on a question or show any signs of frustration. Expect to leave your comfort zone. The last few suggestions apply to any job interview though.
I'm not going to list the top ten, but if you look around, they aren't difficult to find. If you're looking for an arcade, I'm not very familiar with them, they're usually even easier to find. Even if you're a profitable trader, i would not recommend taking any prop trading job without a salary. The markets are too unforgiving and the skills you develop don't really translate well outside of the trading industry.
