Tool to figure average price of position?

Does anyone have a link or excel sheet to a tool that will calculate the average cost of a stock when purchased at different times and share levels?

Thanks for the link. I think that is way more than I needed. I don't even know how to figure that thing out. Is there a more simple method of figuring dollar cost average?

I am looking for something where you can enter the amount of stock you purchased the amount and it would figure the average from there.

Ummm:

N*X + N1*X1 + N2*X2 + ............ / Z

where:

N= number of shares purchased
X= purchase price of shares
Z= number of distinct purchases

shouldn't take more than 10 seconds to make a tool in excel for that.
