Took out a loan to transition to full-time trading. 24 years old.

Day 19
+10.9%
Pissed because I didn't make the best judgement this morning, losing potential opportunities and calling the reversal too early, causing me to lose close to 10%. Well, made it all back and some more but exited as I was busy with work, at work. If I stayed in and rode the drop, I could have made close to 25% or maybe even 30% today.
Slowly getting used to using 3 positions and feeling more comfortable than before.
Can't wait till tomorrow.

wabu27,

Currently, is your total account profitable or at a loss since the start of this thread ?

If so, what's the percentage or dollar amount ?

Thanks

I think he has different goals in mind.

The market gives everyone exactly what they want whether they know it yet or not. For some it's not about a financial payoff, the payoff here is completely in a different domain.

Well, let's see. He started with $38,100 and now has $3,700 left. Do the math.

He started this thread with 38.1k and now only has 3.7k. ?

Soon he won't be allowed to trade one contract of Crude Oil CL futures...many brokers have high margins for that.

I remember I asked questions after he had a big losing day of -21.9%...it went unanswered.

Is there a reason about why you don't use stop loss protection ?

If you think they are not useful...did you backtest not using stops ?

I only asked because psychologically, big losing days put a lot of pressure on a trader to abuse leverage and/or margins. On top of that, there's the monthly cost of those loans...that's even more pressure. Many will just take big risks with their analysis and/or trades when the end is near via an apocalyptic trade.

@wrbtrader probably loss of like 98% right now
@Sprout hey im interested in what you of that different domain is lol
@wrbtrader i dont like using stop-loss because i try to see the chart live, see the movements, feel the movements and make a decision from that. i personally think if you use stop loss protection it means you don't really know what you're doing.
ive never backtested and don't know how to backtest.
