Too old to get a trader job ?

Sorry BRO you might tell your friends that you are a "trader" but life's facts are.....
100 % Commission work is not a - paid job.
Prop trader is not a real "trader" as much as *most* MLM is not a real business.
let me spell it for you...if you get benefits (I have a very decent dental and medical co pay with company matching 401 K) and PAY
IT IS A JOB.
Of course it is a little too complicated to some ET readers.....

What kind of a job do you want? A prop trader is by no stretch of any imagination a real job! So you want to get a real job on a trading desk somewhere?

That is funny shit Bro-

You rip on prop traders and claim that is not a real job......than in your next post you state that you need to work in a Casino for a pay check.

I have never traded firm capital nor worked on a desk and started as a prop trader 7 years ago and cut my teeth with some very good traders from the floor and than worked on the method and plan over the last 5 years...so it is a start for most and is one way to go.

By the way, I do pay for my own Insurance out of my trade account and have some shillings left over to take the family once a quarter to the movies.........but barely so we go to the matinee:D

I'm going to be 33 and thought i entered trading business little bit late, It's because i have TONS of trading related stuff in front of me to master

Time is really critical, but where is the energy

Lord help us

Prop firms will use you as a dildo and you'll likely learn crap!
I have been with the first prop firm before it was fashionable to
daytrade.

I believe what you say about what MOST prob firms are today

Look I do not know the market today. I almost went back with Bright in SF but they just switched and I needed a blimey series 7 that I HAD but it was too old. So I will not suffer thru this sh*t again just to trade in an office mostly my risk money fronted.
I traded in NYC with ETC in 92 (now schoenfeld) and I personally traded next to Bob Kanter when he actually traded and gave us big print action on some NYSE prints.
I never said to my friends that I work as a trader. Fuck, I had to pay $1500/month for my desk. What kind of a job where I have to pay to be there? Well maybe new corporate america is going there but I am not going along.
Having said it, Bright is likely the only company I would touch today. (OP hear this?)

So I just opened a donut shop, and have to pay my own insurance, and for all the ingredients to make donuts, and I still can't say I'm a donut maker.

I guess only if I work at a Dunkin Donuts, correct? With the benefits and all.....

What gives bro?

Do you have a JOB or a Business? *hint* (I cannot believe this 8th grade stuff? :)
Fuck man, there is a franchise to clean fucking office buildings where you pay 10k and they send you sure gigs and you clean trash? Do yoo have a business or bought yourself a job?
I am a full time employee of a casino where I make 200-500 cash per nights while I am still an employee of the Injuns....dig BRO?

I dont pay anyone to go to work. I make money in the markets daily (check the trader p&L thread if you'd like).

Traders are entrepenuers who DO NOT think like the avg person. You obviously arent cut out for it so it's a good thing you have a steady paycheck. My only problem with you is that you grouped everyone into one category and claimed "if you dont have this, then you dont have a real job". And thats just plain ignorant.

BTW, your ignore list must be pretty long, if this is how you react to anyone who doesnt share your viewpoint.
