I always see people wanting MORE money spent on education. Why? People say so they can have good jobs. But who is going to do the little jobs? If everyone has a masters degree, who is going to serve burgers? Who is going to wait tables? In theory this "no child left behind" sounds like a good idea, but when you get down to it...is it? Will these children be happier if they have higher paying more stressful jobs? Lets see. Here are two videos. The first one is of children who are very very poor. They really have nothing. No TVs, no xboxs at home, they have nothing really. The second one is a teen who would be considered educated by the kids in the first video(safe to assume this kid goes to school every day since he is american). That teen has a TV in his room(not sure if he has a game system or not but being a teen he probably does), probably eats any time of day he wants. Has a nice bed, furniture, a house with air-con and probably gets a nice allowance from his parents every week.
So why are our rich children unhappy and the poor children in the 3rd world happy? Because we have been educated to "want more" Parents always say they "want more" for thier kids than they had. As if more stuff makes you happy.
