Not if they outsource their power to a vote of the people of the state through direct election of the president and Vice President, which is what they have been doing since 1896 or there abouts. The states would need to change the ballots back to voting for electors, not candidates. It’s ok.

I get you think that the state legislatures can just throw out election results but not as the elections are currently held. We would need to go back to the original way of voting for electors to do that. Which would be legal, btw.

--And in the case of Pennsylvania, their Supreme Court changed laws prior to the election and they had no right to do that. Their legislature allowed it to happen. State legislatures really dropped the ball in 2020 and will likely do so in the future.

And this is why the Dems who whine that TSCOTUS ripped off Al Gore in the 2000 election are so far off the mark. They fail to understand that the Florida State Legislature was in the process of authorizing the Bush Electors to cast their votes for Bush. What your missing is the state legislatures have developed methods of choosing electors by direct vote of the people for candidates in their states. They can’t just pretend they didn’t make these laws and can overturn the will of the people.
