Or you just never got it in the past 2 years because you been somewhat careful. Son had it and I did not catch it and wife has it and did not catch it so lots of explanations.

Natural immunity might never have been tested if you never caught it haha.
 
As pointed out multiple times there is no "natural immunity" with Omicron Covid. Previously having Delta or other variants of Covid provide no immunity against Omicron. Having a previous Omicron sub-variant (e.g. BA2) provides no immunity against getting a different Omicron sub-variant (BA.5). Natural immunity to the same Omicron sub-variant last 28 days at most.

The only way to obtain protection against severe illness with Omicron is to get vaccinated. Vaccination also provides some level of immunity (while admittedly not great) to infection for several months. With the introduction of Omicron boosters in fall better protection against Omicron infection will be provided.

An unvaccinated person in the U.S. who is over 35 years of age has a 1 in 100 chance of being severely ill and hospitalized with BA.5 Omicron -- which combines the very high infectiousness of Omicron with the the severity aspects of Delta. So do you feel lucky? Or will you be the 1 out of 100?

Possible but I lived life carefree with no regards to covid safety precautions after I had it the first time and was around people who found out they had covid a day or two after I was with them.Maybe it was luck but I think it was the natural immunity

You rolled the dice. I know someone unvaccinated who got it twice w/in a year. Then again, I know someone who got it, claims triple vaxxed after 1st bout, then getting it again w/in 2 yrs

Its OK to be carefree during a Pandemic but at some point, you had to wear a face mask, follow social distance rules and use a hand sanitizer especially if you've visited grocery stores, government buildings, some private businesses, pharmacy type of stores et cetera.

Simply, now that there are no more mandates, no vaccination requirements for most occupations...you now have more exposure to Covid from other individuals.

This is what happens as we transition from a Pandemic into an Endemic...we now have more self-responsibilities as the government waves and tell us...

You do know you can carry it and infect other people so you dont have to walk around wrapped in safety tape and hazmat suits but some precautions are easy to follow and make sense, same as if it was flu season. Washing hands or hand sani, maybe wearing a mask if you feel sick, etc, not sharing foods, coveirng your mouth...

Vax is about your own personal immunity but precautions are to make sure you dont spread it to others.

My oldest had Covid maybe 3 months ago. We didn’t do anything special just kept them in their room and treated it like the flu. No one else in the house caught it. Funny thing is my oldest is the only kid vaccinated.

Make sure you stay hydrated and keep your electrolytes up. I have potassium tablets and table salt available in case of infection, preferring over Gatorade. I also have the vitamins and minerals wrbtrader mentioned. Light yellow urine means well hydrated. A greater number of small, say 300 to 400 calories of quality, balanced meals may be better than fewer, large meals.

I live in a roommate situation that includes roommates who travel to dance competitions around the country and a roommate who treats children infected with Covid. My roommates had confirmed cases of Covid and get exposed to people with confirmed Covid infections all the time. The roommate who treats children got Covid again last year even though she was doubly vaccinated and boosted. She is in her early thirties and described her Covid symptoms as “Bad”. My understanding is she did not need to go to the hospital.

I am planning to get vaccinated soon mainly to get my immune “reactivated” since I’ve not been sick for 2 1/2 years. Masking and other measures helped, I believe. Any vaccination will do for my purposes, but the Covid vaccination will unlock Canada for me.

One thing to look out for is if you seem to be getting better in roughly 10 days then take a turn for the worse. Don’t hesitate to seek medical immediate attention at that point because there is a chance you might be developing severe Covid.
