on the one hand,the ppi came in much lower than expectations but on the other hand,the core,which the fed pays much more attention to,rose more than expextations.
housing starts came in better than expectations,but building permits came in much lower.
the wild card is today's conference call by Goldman Sachs and Lehman bros.
 
The PPI coming in lower than expectations was still at 6.4%, right?

GS and LEH both reported better than expected. So up we go!
