I wanted to play with the kids across the alley. They wouldn't let me join in.
So... I went into the house and got a knife and threatened them if they didn't let me play. (It wasn't a genuine threat, of course. I wasn't going to stab anybody. I just thought the knife would scare them into letting me play. A classic example of why we don't let 8-yr olds vote. That notion should be extended to HS and college age "kids" also... they're also are not old enough to make mature choices.)
Of course one of the kid's mom called mine and I got dragged into the house by my ear.... with the, "you just wait until your father gets home and hears about this!
Easy to imagine how I felt the rest of the day, waiting for dad to get home and administer my punishment.
How I feel this election day reminds me of how I felt that day.
