If the US is actually changing and evolving, it seems that maybe conservatives are not suited to the new environment that it is becoming (mind you - there are conservatives in other parts of the world as well). A more accurate term might be more appropriate....but i digress.

Either way - from an evolutionary standpoint, those who are best adapted to the environment survive.....not those who can butt heads the best. But given many dont actually believe in evolution why should they worry.....plus as humans we cant actually alter our environment and cause ecological change so i guess best just accept it.

but equating evolution, survival of the fittest etc; with fighting - totally off line. Even your ideas of productiveness and laziness is way off.
Personally -the way I view it is simple - culturally, politically, socially - it all recycles itself. The dissidents become power elite, conservatives become the liberals (in the US sense), liberals morph into the conservatives - things change and change again, and change is good....
Actually given your hate for socialism you should actually realise that extreme socialism will actually cause itself to collapse and so it too evolves - so what are you worried about. - adapt , thrive and survive.
