to those that bought the spike today

hey there. Sure you're right, Natalie. It still seems like it is a fight every day. I guess that's the whole point, fighting that tendency to take the easy way. Oh, yeah, that was a fine bit of trading the other day during the spike. I'm glad you came forward and shared that with us. I suspected you are an analytic person when I read that first market internals post of yours in chat. It is always a pleasant surprise to find a woman trader.

Big toothy grin,

Bruce

????? Which post was that? (Sorry I've written so many now I can't remember which one...)

I am foggy on the details...let's see you posted something about advancing versus declining volume and its pace being different for the hour than the previous day's. I asked if you had worked up your own study on it or had taken it from a web page. I asked that because I had only seen one web page ever with that info and it was not a well-trafficked site. And I had never worked up pace figures on my own. The guy that did it is a stock trader in Pennsylvania and the web-based implementation was done by another web-savvy trader in Milwaukee, WI. Anyway, long story short, that was why.

Quote from Scientist:

As always, phoenix, you have to start by criticizing intentionally constructive (as opposed to you) people again.

Regarding 'typically arrogant and condescending remarks', and "let me show you..." I remember you giving me the same stuff over and over, after I tried to explain something.

Well, those condescending remarks, in my case, came from somebody 1/2 your age and quite possibly more than 2X as succesful as you. But all I intended is help. I don't need your constant abuse. Nor does anybody else here.

In bubba's case, you see, you're half HIS age, he's 4X my age, and chances are he is 4X as successful as you are. At least.
He's somebody who's made some very enlightening posts on this board and shared a lot of valuable wisdom, of course duly unappreciated by a loser-wannabe-trader like you.

Look at bubba, he sets himself 100,000-shares-a-day trading limits on some stocks to avoid illiquidity traps etc, while you're still pushing around your 100-share-lots of SUNW and JDSU all day.

But that's fine. That way at least you don't lose too much and you can frequently come back here to abuse people to channel your frustrations with the market, which is simply smarter than you.

And what's the point in trying to correct somebody like you. Really, you should consider some professional anger counselling, and frequent martial arts classes to channel your destructive urges. You see, saying that the market is smarter than you is simple - because you have no humility. You're arrogant as f*ck. Arrogant posers all get washed out eventually. One day, they won't rise from the ashes again, even if they're dbphoenix the burning motha-of-all-flamers. Think about it.

Mentioning him, as a truly helpful and contributing trader, in the same sentence with Mr.Market is the apex of offensiveness and arrogance!

How much better than Mr.Market are YOU? You're doing exactly what characterized Mr.Market! What's your problem man???
Has he thrown you out of his bed?

I feel sorry for you, dbphoenix. Get a life man.

Sincerely,
~The Scientist

I must defend dphoenix. I do not always agree with what he says, but I think that his criticism is healthy and to the point more often than not. You started really nicely on this board and I do hope that you will not turn into yet another grouppie because that would be really sad. Plus, we have already enough grouppies on this board, while independently thinking people like dphoenix are still in shortage.

That's it from me for today and most likely many more days to come. I must say that the more time I spend away from this board the better my trading is. I suggest that others see if they cannot find a similar correlation.

Okay, great. Thank you.

Bruce:)

Yes.

I do my best trading when the quotes are lagged, there is bedlam in all the pits , extreme multi point moves in less than 5 seconds, total uncertainty as to cause, and impossible to manage stops.

Just like the rest of ya.
